Vivo to Launch Android 14-Based Funtouch OS 14 on October 7

Vivo has announced that Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14, will be launched in India on October 7, starting at 12 pm. This update will be available for Vivo and iQoo users. This announcement follows the recent launch of the Funtouch OS 14 Preview Program for X90 Pro users. Although specific details about the updates and changes in Funtouch OS 14 have not been disclosed, Vivo promises a “smoother experience.” The list of smartphones eligible for the update has also not been revealed yet.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Vivo confirmed the release of the Funtouch OS 14 update in India on October 7, beginning at 12 pm IST. While the company has not specified which smartphones will receive the update or detailed the new features, it has mentioned that users will automatically receive notifications on their devices if the update is available for their handset. In related news, OnePlus announced the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 2 for supported devices in September. This update introduces the Trinity Engine, designed for improved multitasking, heavy usage, and extended performance, along with the TEE-based Device Security Engine 3.0 for enhanced security. The stable OxygenOS 14 update will start rolling out to smartphones in October, with the OnePlus 11 5G being the first to receive it. Other devices will follow in November.
